Attentive Reception

A large number of victims/survivors and their families who have turned to church authorities seeking to be heard and to denounce the crime they have experienced, have received a response lacking in empathy, solidarity, transparency and accountability, which has only deepened their suffering.

The local church, through the Memorare Initiative, seeks to offer those who report an abuse, a reliable and safe space where, in addition to help in making a report, they are advised and accompanied throughout the process, including personal follow-up and updates on what is happening with their case.

By providing a professional reporting service, church authorities assume the responsibility proper to them to recieve and assist victims of abuse in an attentive, accountable and transparent way.
