Mons. Oliver tem mais de vinte anos de experi\u00eancia na prote\u00e7\u00e3o de menores e pessoas vulner\u00e1veis contra abusos e na condu\u00e7\u00e3o de investiga\u00e7\u00f5es can\u00f4nicas e processos penais, ajudando as Igrejas locais em todo o mundo e a Santa S\u00e9. Ele tamb\u00e9m serve como Coordenador para a Prote\u00e7\u00e3o da Crian\u00e7a (Referente) no Estado da Cidade do Vaticano e como Consultor do Dicast\u00e9rio para os Leigos, Fam\u00edlia e Vida.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Mons. Oliver nasceu em Nova York, entrou na vida religiosa na Irmandade da Esperan\u00e7a em 1984, e foi ordenado sacerdote em 2000 para a Arquidiocese de Boston e a servi\u00e7o de sua comunidade. Mons. Seus estudos inclu\u00edram Dartmouth College (bacharelado), um doutorado em eclesiologia pela Pontif\u00edcia Universidade Gregoriana em Roma, e um doutorado em direito can\u00f4nico pela Universidade Cat\u00f3lica da Am\u00e9rica em Washington DC, com trabalhos de tese intitulados “The Vocation of the Laity” e “Developing Criteria of Ecclesiality for Associations of the Faithful”.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ap\u00f3s trabalhar como juiz, promotor de justi\u00e7a, defensor e conselheiro de v\u00e1rias dioceses e comunidades religiosas (2002-2012), Mons. Oliver serviu como promotor de justi\u00e7a na Congrega\u00e7\u00e3o para a Doutrina da F\u00e9 (2012-2014). Na Arquidiocese de Boston, foi diretor do Departamento de Investiga\u00e7\u00f5es (2002-2005) e assistente do Vig\u00e1rio Geral para assuntos can\u00f4nicos (2010-2012). <\/span><\/p>\n

Sua experi\u00eancia pastoral inclui par\u00f3quias de grandes centros urbanos como tamb\u00e9m em periferias, semin\u00e1rios, escolas secund\u00e1rias, movimentos de fi\u00e9is crist\u00e3os, adultos deficientes e v\u00edtimas de abuso. Ele foi professor visitante de direito can\u00f4nico na Universidade Cat\u00f3lica da Am\u00e9rica (2010-2012) e professor de teologia e de direito can\u00f4nico no Semin\u00e1rio St. John’s (1997-2010), onde tamb\u00e9m foi reitor de estudantes (2004-2007) e diretor do Programa de Mestrado em Artes do Minist\u00e9rio para Leigos (2005-2007). <\/span><\/p>\n
