Among his most important roles, Professor Ernesto Caffo has been Senior Professor of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at University of Modena and Reggio Emilia and he is Associate Professor at Yale Child Study Center.
Professor Caffo is president of the scientific board of the postgraduate school in child neuropsychiatry and director of the master’s research programs on “Evaluation and Intervention in Situations of Child Abuse and Paedophilia”.
Professor Caffo is founder and president of Fondazione S.O.S – Il Telefono Azzurro Onlus, a non-profit Italian organization that promotes children’s rights and fights any kind of abuse and violence against children and adolescents.
He is president of Foundation Child, which promotes study and research into childhood and adolescence, and he directs international training research seminars in the field of child and adolescent mental health.
Past-president of the European Society for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (ESCAP), Professor Caffo has been a Member of the Board of Directors of the International Centre for Missing and Exploited Children (ICMEC) since 2008.
In 2022, Pope Francis reappointed him a member of the Pontifical Commission for the Protection of Minors.

The Pontifical Commission for the Protection of Minors (PCPM) is hosting in November 13-15 a European Conference for Church leaders and safeguarding personnel from across Europe.
