Psychologist, sexologist, therapist.
Ewa Kusz a clinical psychologist who has extensive experience in working with victims of child sexual abuse.
She graduated in psychology at the Catholic University in Lublin and completed postgraduate studies in clinical sexology and human resources management. She also graduated in psychotherapy. She is a member of the Polish Psychological Association and Deputy Director of the Child Protection Center at the Jesuit University “Ignatianum” in Cracow, responsible for training programs.
She works also as a psychotherapist and as a forensic expert.
She has twice participated as an auditor in the Synod of Bishops (2008 and 2012). In 2004-2008 and 2011-2012 she was the President of the World Conference of Secular Institutes. Member of the organizing committee of the first international conference in Poland (2014) on “Understanding and Responding to the Sexual Abuse of Minors in the Catholic Church”, she co-created the program of postgraduate studies on child protection of minors at the Jesuit University Ignatianum in Crakow where she also works as a lecturer.
In 2020/2022 she was a member of the Organising Committee of the PCPM sponsored formation Seminar for the Churches of Central and Eastern Europe in conjunction with the Polish Bishops’ Conference “Safeguarding God’s Children”.
In 2022, Pope Francis appointed her a member of the Pontifical Commission for the Protection of Minors.
